Privacy policy
Strong & Courageous Holdings LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company (“we”, “us”), runs Bible in Your Day, a Bible reading and study app for iPhone and iPad. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: [email protected].
The short version
- No AI writes anything while you use the app. Bible Chat shows answers that were written and reviewed before release, and a small model on your device matches your question to one. Your question is not sent anywhere to be answered.
- Your reading, notes and chats are stored on your device. If you sign in (Bible Chat needs it), your study records also sync to your account, and Plus backs up your chats.
- We do not sell your data, and we never use your notes, journal or chats for ads.
- Free readers may see a labeled sponsored card in Bible Chat. Ads are not personalized, and Plus has none.
- You can export or delete your data, or your whole account, in Settings.
What we collect and why
| Kind of data | What we collect and how | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Bible reading, notes, highlights and journal | Your place and progress, highlights, notes, journal entries, saved verses and lesson progress. They stay on your device. If you sign in, they also sync to your account with Google Firebase. Reading reminders are set on your device. | To run the app and let you pick up where you left off, including on a new device. |
| Bible Chat questions | What you type and the answers shown. A model on your device (Google’s EmbeddingGemma) matches your question to a reviewed topic. Chats are saved on your device; with Plus they are also backed up to your account. | To show you reviewed answers and keep your chats if you change device. We do not use them to train AI models. |
| Account | Sign in with Apple or Google through Google Firebase Authentication: your account ID, sign-in provider, and the name and email you choose to share. | Bible Chat needs a sign-in, and sync needs an account. |
| Subscription | Apple handles payment and gives us no card details. RevenueCat records which plan you have, under your account ID (or a random ID if you bought without signing in; email us to delete that one). | To record Plus purchases and count subscribers. |
| Ads | Google AdMob may receive your IP address, approximate location, device identifiers and how you interact with an ad. | To show and measure the sponsored card in Bible Chat. |
| Downloads and this website | Cloudflare receives your IP address and the file or page you asked for. Downloads carry no chat text, notes or account details. This website sets no cookies and runs no scripts. | To deliver translations, lessons and web pages. |
| Support emails | What you send us. “Report a problem” in Settings adds your app version, build, iOS version and device model; you read and edit the email before sending, and it never includes your notes or chats. | To answer you and fix problems. |
Your notes, journal and chats can reveal religious beliefs or other sensitive things. We use them only to run the app and recover your data for you.
Who processes data for us
These companies handle data on our behalf. The app has no analytics or crash-reporting tools of its own; we count installs, accounts and subscribers from the dashboards of Apple, Firebase and RevenueCat.
- Apple processes purchases and payments. Apple’s privacy policy
- Google Firebase provides sign-in, sync and account deletion. Firebase privacy information
- Google AdMob provides ads. Google’s privacy policy and SDK data disclosures
- RevenueCat records subscriptions. RevenueCat’s privacy policy
- Cloudflare hosts downloads and this website. Cloudflare’s privacy policy
Ads
Free readers may see a labeled sponsored card in Bible Chat. Plus subscribers see none, and reading, lessons and study screens never show ads. Ads are not personalized, and we never give Google your questions, notes or chats. The app does not ask to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, but Google’s ad software may still process your IP address, approximate location, device identifiers and ad interactions. Where the law requires, a consent message asks first, and you can change your choices in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
Storage, security and retention
Data travels over encrypted connections and is encrypted when stored. It is not end-to-end encrypted, so authorized administrators of our service providers may access stored content. We keep your data until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your cloud data and your RevenueCat record (restoring purchases on the same Apple Account later can create a new one). Server backups expire within 7 days. Exported files and Apple device backups are yours, and cloud deletion does not change them. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription: cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
Your choices and rights
In Settings → Your data you can export or delete your personal data, and you can turn off saving chat history. In Settings → Account you can sign out, delete your cloud data, or delete your account (you confirm with Apple or Google again).
Wherever you live in the United States, you can also ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email [email protected]. We check it is you by matching your request to your account, for example the sign-in email and provider, and we may ask a few more questions; we never ask for a government ID or card number. An authorized agent may ask for you. We reply within 45 days, and tell you if we need up to 45 more. If we say no, reply “appeal” and we will answer in writing within 45 days and tell you how to contact your state attorney general. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Consumer health data
What you type into Bible Chat, notes or the journal can touch on health, including mental health. We treat it as sensitive: it stays on your device unless you sign in (and, for chats, have Plus backup), only Google Firebase handles it for us when you sync, we use it only to run the app, we never sell it or give it to advertisers, and you can delete it any time in Settings or by email.
Children
Bible in Your Day is for people 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us some, email us and we will delete it.
Do Not Track
The app and this website do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and the website sets no cookies, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. Google’s ad software is covered under Ads above.
United States only, changes and contact
Bible in Your Day is offered in the United States only, and our cloud records are stored here. When our data practices change, we update this page and its effective date. Contact us any time at [email protected].
